Description

Flaky biscuits, crispy hashbrowns, and rich sausage gravy come together in one comforting, bubbling casserole—easy to make, hard to resist.


Ingredients

  • 1 (30 oz) bag frozen hashbrowns, thawed
  • 1 lb breakfast sausage (pork or turkey)
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2½ cups whole milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ½ tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 can (8-count) refrigerated biscuit dough
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
  • Butter or nonstick spray for greasing pan

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook sausage in a large skillet over medium heat, breaking it apart until browned.
  3. Add flour and stir for 1 minute. Slowly whisk in milk until smooth and thickened, about 5–7 minutes.
  4. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  5. Spread hashbrowns evenly in prepared baking dish.
  6. Pour sausage gravy over hashbrowns and spread evenly.
  7. Sprinkle cheese on top if using.
  8. Place biscuits evenly over the top, uncooked.
  9. Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, or until biscuits are golden and cooked through.
  10. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Thaw hashbrowns and pat dry for crispier texture. Add cheese for richness. Cover with foil if biscuits brown too quickly.
