Description
Flaky biscuits, crispy hashbrowns, and rich sausage gravy come together in one comforting, bubbling casserole—easy to make, hard to resist.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 (30 oz) bag frozen hashbrowns, thawed
- 1 lb breakfast sausage (pork or turkey)
- 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2½ cups whole milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
- ½ tsp garlic powder (optional)
- 1 can (8-count) refrigerated biscuit dough
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
- Butter or nonstick spray for greasing pan
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Cook sausage in a large skillet over medium heat, breaking it apart until browned.
- Add flour and stir for 1 minute. Slowly whisk in milk until smooth and thickened, about 5–7 minutes.
- Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Spread hashbrowns evenly in prepared baking dish.
- Pour sausage gravy over hashbrowns and spread evenly.
- Sprinkle cheese on top if using.
- Place biscuits evenly over the top, uncooked.
- Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, or until biscuits are golden and cooked through.
- Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
Thaw hashbrowns and pat dry for crispier texture. Add cheese for richness. Cover with foil if biscuits brown too quickly.
