- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted (for filling)
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2 tablespoons milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, and salt.
- Mix in softened butter until the mixture is crumbly.
- Add egg and vanilla extract, mixing until dough forms.
- Press dough evenly into the prepared baking pan.
- In a separate bowl, mix melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and flour until well combined.
- Spread cinnamon filling evenly over the base layer.
- Use a knife or skewer to gently swirl the filling into the dough.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- Prepare glaze by mixing powdered sugar and milk; drizzle over cooled bars.
