Discover the perfect fusion of comfort and gourmet with this Cordon Bleu Meatloaf with Gravy recipe. A delicious, savory meal for any occasion!
Ingredients
- Ground beef (or a blend of beef and pork for extra richness)
- Boneless, skinless chicken breast (cut into thin slices)
- Ham (thinly sliced)
- Swiss cheese (sliced or shredded for melting)
- Breadcrumbs (preferably fresh, to help with binding)
- Eggs (to help bind the ingredients together)
- Garlic and onion powder, as well as other seasonings (like salt, pepper, and herbs) for flavor
- Gravy ingredients: butter, flour, chicken or beef stock, and seasonings
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with the breadcrumb mixture and seasonings (such as garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper). Add the egg to help bind the mixture.
- Mix everything together until it’s evenly combined, but be careful not to overwork it, as this can make the meatloaf tough.
- Lay the prepared meat mixture on a piece of parchment paper or plastic wrap. Flatten it out into a large rectangle shape, about 1 inch thick.
- Layer the sliced chicken, ham, and Swiss cheese evenly in the center of the meat. Make sure you leave a border around the edges.
- Carefully roll the meat into a log shape, ensuring that the filling stays in place.
- Place the rolled meatloaf into a baking dish and bake for about 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
