Description
Crockpot Angel Chicken is a slow-cooked, creamy chicken dish made with simple pantry ingredients, tender chicken breasts or thighs, and served over delicate angel hair pasta. It’s budget-friendly, crowd-pleasing, and basically perfect for busy weeknights or cozy weekends.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
- 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of chicken soup
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup chicken broth
- 1 packet Italian dressing mix (dry)
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter, sliced
- 8 oz angel hair pasta, cooked just before serving
- Optional add-ins: sautéed mushrooms, baby spinach, or peas
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the cream of chicken soup, cream cheese, chicken broth, and Italian dressing mix until smooth.
- Place the chicken in the crockpot. Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken and top with sliced butter.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 5–6 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours, until the chicken is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
- Shred the chicken in the sauce using two forks. Stir to coat and let sit on warm while you cook the pasta.
- Serve the creamy chicken over angel hair pasta and garnish with fresh parsley or Parmesan if desired.
Notes
Use softened cream cheese for a smooth sauce. Don’t overcook the pasta. Shredding the chicken into the sauce helps absorb all that flavor. This dish reheats beautifully—make extra for leftovers!
