Description
This Jam Jar Salad Dressing is sweet, tangy, and made in seconds with just a handful of pantry staples — all shaken up in the jar your jam came in! It’s a no-mess, no-fuss, zero-waste vinaigrette that’s totally customizable and full of fresh flavor.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 tablespoon jam (raspberry, strawberry, apricot, fig, etc.)
- 1½ tablespoons vinegar (balsamic, apple cider, red wine, or white balsamic)
- 3 tablespoons olive oil (or neutral oil)
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Optional: a squeeze of lemon juice
- Optional: minced garlic or fresh herbs
Instructions
- Add jam, vinegar, mustard, oil, and any extras to a nearly-empty jam jar.
- Close the lid tightly and shake vigorously for 15–20 seconds until the dressing emulsifies.
- Taste and adjust with more salt, pepper, or vinegar if needed.
- Drizzle over salad greens, grain bowls, veggies, or grilled meats.
Notes
Warm the jam slightly to help it mix. Use quality olive oil for the best flavor. Shake again before each use as oil and vinegar will separate over time. Store in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
