Ingredients

  • ½ cup popcorn kernels (or 10 cups popped)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (or vegan butter)
  • 1 tablespoon dill pickle juice
  • 1½ teaspoons dried dill
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon mustard powder (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: pinch of cayenne or chili powder for heat

Instructions

  1. Pop the popcorn using your preferred method. For stovetop: heat 2 tablespoons of oil over medium heat, add a few kernels and wait for them to pop. Add the rest, cover, and shake occasionally until popping slows.
  2. In a small saucepan over low heat, melt butter. Stir in pickle juice, dill, garlic powder, onion powder, mustard powder, salt, and pepper. Whisk until well combined.
  3. Place popped popcorn in a large bowl. Drizzle the pickle seasoning over it while tossing to coat. Do this in batches for even coverage.
  4. Let the popcorn sit for 2–3 minutes to absorb flavor before serving.

Notes

For an extra crispy bite, bake the seasoned popcorn at 300°F for 5–10 minutes. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
