Frosting:

- ½ cup sour cream
- 1½ cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- A pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and line two 9-inch round cake pans with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, sour cream, vegetable oil, vanilla extract, and hot coffee.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool the cakes in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- To make the frosting, melt the chocolate chips and let cool slightly.
- Mix melted chocolate, sour cream, vanilla, and salt. Gradually add powdered sugar and stir until smooth and creamy.
- Once cakes are cooled, frost and decorate as desired.
